From afar MAXISIDE 900, NG680, and NG600 may seem similar in features, benefits, and applications, as they are all PVC-coated polyester, but apart from their shared feature of UV stabilization, these three textiles are unique and are intended for differing specific purposes.

Let’s look at the technical difference in the range.

MAXISIDE 900
MAXISIDE 900 is a high tenacity panama weave scrim, ideally used for truck-side curtains and heavy-duty applications. This panema weave is incorporated into the base cloth of MAXISIDE 900 and coupled with the increased strength of yarn used contributes to a higher breaking strength, warp: 3800/50mm and weft: 3600/50mm, much higher than others on the market. This high-performing technical textile has an acrylic lacquer on both sides and carries excellent welding properties. With a thickness of 0.70mm, a nominal weight of 900gsm, and a fabric construction of 100% polyester 1000D, MAXISIDE 900 is extremely heavy-duty and hard to tear. This material is also anti-fungal meaning it can endure prolonged exposure to damp environments, increasing its longevity.

NG600

NG600 is a woven polyester, with a PVC lacquer on one side, intended to be used for covers, banners, sports equipment, marquees, tents, and tarpaulin applications, with a semi-gloss to gloss finish. With a nominal weight of 600gsm +/-3% and a thickness of 0.50mm +/-0.01mm, NG600 is the thinnest and most lightweight textile in the range. The main technical difference with NG600 is that it is fire retardant, meaning it can slow or even halt the spread of flames, a desirable feature when regarding tents and marquees. This textile has screen printing capabilities, is anti-bacterial, and is covered by a 3-year warranty.

NG680

NG680 is made from PVC-coated ripstop polyester, with a gloss finish. Ripstop fabrics are woven fabrics that incorporate reinforcing techniques to make them more resistant to tearing and ripping, thus NG680 has a breaking strength of warp: 3300N/50mm weft: 3200N/50mm. Intended uses include tarpaulins, ute/box trailers covers, grain bins, truck rollover tarps, and general covers. This textile has a thickness of 0.55mm and a nominal weight of 680gsm, meaning it has a surprisingly good weight-to-strength ratio. NG680 has both screen printing and general quality digital printing capabilities, is fire retardant, anti-bacterial, and is covered by a 3-year warranty.

All features combined make MAXISIDE 900, NG680, and NG600 each the perfect textile for their intended application. Need more information or want to ask a question? Call Ricky Richards today on (02) 9735 3333 or visit our website. We'd love to hear from you!
