Social responsibility efforts with the Melanoma Institute Australia, Sydney Childrens Hospital Randwick and Bakslap
Many businesses these days have become so focused on getting new business and earning more profit that the value of actually doing something good for your community is sometimes forgotten. Ron believes that giving back is important because it helps the community, and helping the community is helping ourselves. It's a win-win situation!

"Ricky Richards is going quite well and we've been relatively successful, and we thought it was appropriate to give back and while at that stage our main philanthropic efforts were with the Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, we decided to expand that a little bit more, for one reason or another, to partner with Melanoma Institute Australia and more recently, we've partnered with Bakslap as a sponsoring partner of their event, it's about giving back…" Ron says.

The Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick is where children with cancer, heart problems, severe burns, HIV/AIDS, and those who need organ, bone marrow, or cord blood transplants have access to the best facilities and get specialised care. On the other hand, Melanoma Institute Australia is an organisation dedicated to finding a cure for melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer and the most common cancer for Australians aged 20 to 39. And closely related to this, the Bakslap lotion applicator was developed due to the founder's late sister dying from melanoma and they hold an event each year, Australia’s Biggest Bakslap which Ricky is a part of.

All three organisations work hard to raise awareness of their various goals and keep Australians healthy and safe. And Ricky Richards is here to ensure it is doing what it can to help those who need it most!

"It was our responsibility to give something back, and the easiest thing to do is to make donations and to tie it into what we're doing," Ron says.

Ron wanted to give back because he knows that their success is not only due to their hard work and dedication but also to their community and the people who have supported them along the way.

Listen to Ron talk about their social responsibility efforts and how their clients and suppliers become part of these initiatives as well!
