The path to self-growth and development is not an easy one. It's definitely one of the hardest things you'll ever have to go through. So, don't you just wish you could talk to your younger self? Don't you wish you could tell them things they should know or lessons that will help them navigate life easier?

Even though it is impossible, wouldn't it be awesome? Deep down, we all want to tell our younger selves some things.

That's why today, we think we can all appreciate some good wisdom from an older soul - Ron.

"I think the best advice I would give my younger self is to maintain the passion, maintain the rage," Ron says. Passion in life helps you stay motivated and focused on your goals. It gives you a sense of purpose and drive.

We all get tired. We all get frustrated, but it's important that we don't let these things take over. The passion and fire drive us forward, keep us going when things get tough, and keep us excited about our work and lives. And while Ron agrees that passions change as we get older, it’s crucial to keep it alive - be it in different ways. The best thing about being a human is that as long as we have passion, we have the power to decide what we want to do with our lives.

Ron’s key wisdom comes from wishing to be less hot-headed when he was young, into harnessing his emotions and channeling them appropriately.

He also notes that "realising that you're not always right is important." Nobody is perfect. And sometimes, mistakes need to be made for lessons to be learned.

Ron also emphasises the importance of learning from other people. He says that his younger version 20-25 years ago should have sought out more mentors. "Seeking out mentors from outside of your business would have been useful. Being a part of different organisations not necessarily involved in the trade, but rather about running a business," he says.

Ron suggests that outside influences really help one grow and become a better person. To be a powerful force for change if you will. When you're around people who are different from you or who have different experiences than yours, it's easier to see things from a new perspective. You can learn from them and use their teachings as a springboard for who you want to be or what you want in life.

"I think with hindsight, that would have been beneficial because I might have learned some really clever things I would’ve learned, what I learned later in life, sooner if that makes sense. And I guess that's the main thing."
