Ricky secures Principal Partnership of Melanoma March
It is no secret that Ricky is a proud supporter of Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA). For three years Ricky has sponsored a research fellow at the institute by donating a percentage of sales from the purchase of our extensive range of shade fabrics. This year, Ricky has decided to not only sponsor a research fellow, but to also become the principal partner for the MIA’s biggest fund-raising initiative, Melanoma March. This includes Jay’s Longest Melanoma March, which sees Jay, a melanoma survivor, walking from Adelaide to Sydney via Melbourne over the course of 50 days.
Melanoma March is now in its eighth year. At each location around Australia, the Melanoma March events bring together the whole ‘melanoma community’. Not only is it to raise awareness and funds for melanoma research, it’s an opportunity to inspire others and remember loved ones.
Ricky Head of Marketing, Greg McKinley, wanted to extend the support Ricky offered to MIA. “When we learned that there was an opportunity to further support MIA & their biggest fundraising initiative, we were obviously very interested.”
Melanoma is the most common cancer in young Australians (15-39 year old) and kills more young Australians (20-39 year old) than any other type of cancer.
Last year over 7,000 people from every state and territory in Australia supported their local Melanoma March events, and we invite you to join us in 2019.
