How you can help?

Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick (SCH) since 1996
The first Friday of December each year means one thing here at Ricky and that is we give thought to those less fortunate and support our community by raising funds for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation. On this day we donate a percentage of all sales to the Foundations greatest area of need ensuring new equipment and technologies are always in place. If you place an order on this day, you can be sure you have helped raised funds for the SCH and you will receive a certificate of thanks from the team for you to display proudly to your visitors.

Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) since 2015
We have a selection of blind and awning fabrics, shade fabrics and marine materials that are in the MIA initiative and by purchasing these textiles, you will assist in the donation we give each year. We donate a percentage of sales from the below to fund a research fellow at MIA as well as being the Principal Partner for the national event, Melanoma March.

You may know that high on the agenda for the Ricky team is to ensure Australians are protected from the sun and its harmful UV rays. Whether it is in the home, at work, at your local park or at a school, a selection of Ricky textiles are suitable for shading products that will assist in providing the protection you need. Ricky is very proud to support Australia’s Biggest Bakslap event each year and get behind the mission of the Bakslap organisation which is to make a dent in sunburn prevention and promote sun safety in Australia. In 2021 we also funded the shade sail competition that was run by the Bakslap team. There was 3 winners (NSW, QLD and VIC) and the winner from each of those states won a fully installed shade sail in their home. Ricky funded the prizes as well as being the major partner for this comp.

Australian Skin Cancer Foundation since 2021

The ‘Melanoma Man’, Jay Allen and his team head up the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation and their mission is to provide support, education, fund research and drive advocacy for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. As many of our customers know, high on the agenda for the Ricky team is to ensure Australians are protected from the sun and its harmful UV rays. Whether it is in the home, at work, at the local park or at a school, a selection of Ricky textiles are suitable for shading products that will assist in providing the protection you need. To us, it makes sense to partner with organisations that support this goal and as the newest partnership in our line up, we look forward to working with Australian Skin Cancer Foundation beyond our sponsorship of Jay’s Mission Melanoma Walk in 2022.
